our origin story
Our founder - an orchid hobbyist, house plant lover, and biologist - discovered the secret to growing her own orchids at home was cloning.
With much trial and error, she developed our unique formula of Crazy Keiki Cloning Paste that not only makes more blooms and baby orchids, but also can be used on used on philodendrons, ficus, monsteras, strings of pearls, and SO MUCH MORE to generate new growth for fuller, happier plants.

We took over Southside in December 2023 because we love finding ways to spend more time together. Despite mom assigning us plant chores as kids, we didn't start out with green thumbs. But through persistence, trial, error, and losing many houseplants, we finally learned how to keep a few alive.
We enjoy comparing notes on soil, debating fertilizers, and sharing photos of our favorite plants. We're passionate about creating innovative solutions for houseplant owners, from wipes that keep leaves dust-free to fertilizers that help plants thrive.

Favorite Houseplant: Myrmecophila brysiana, an orchid has a symbiotic relationship with ants.
Favorite plant experiments: Anything that gets me looking through a microscope, like in seventh-grade biology. I also enjoy applying keiki paste to random plants just to see what happens.
Hates: My ficus triangularis loses all of its leaves if you dare to sneeze in its presence.

Favorite Houseplant: Birds of Paradise, FLFs and anything with giant, dramatic leaves.
Favorite plant experiments: Moss poles to grow bigger leaves and water propagations to make more plants with the ones I already have! I am also forever figuring out which plants will survive with most neglect.
Hates: Caletheas. With a passion.
